The hexagon is not just a good idea; it’s a force of nature. From the structure of honeycomb and snowflakes to the patterns on turtle shells, the strength and versatility of the six-sided shape is multifold. We used it as design inspiration for this serious down jacket, which blends Omni-Heat® thermal reflective technology with the 700 fill power down for renowned warmth.

The jacket fits well for my 175 5'8 person, but does not leave adequate room for layering. Would be nice if the hood laid down a bit more as it kinda sticks up. Too heavy for backcountry use. The biggest issue I have is that the Omni-heat is not functional as designed. Most gear manufacturers would know that insulation is what keeps you warm and body heat is what heats it up, providing a barrier with the outside air. The Omni-heat reflective material as placed on the inside of the jacket actually reflects the heat back to your body and away from the insulation, thereby allowing the insulation to cool faster by radiating to the outside air. It would be much more functional if it was on the inside of the outer shell fabric, reflecting all that personal warmth back at ya. As it is designed, I figure you lose 5-10deg of warmth. A scientist/gear head would certainly help!

Windproof, water-resistant, super-stretching, and Omni-Heat®-armed—the Key Three is at the top of the softshell food chain.

Seems like a good softshell. A little heavy and too tight near the waist. too long in the sleeves. Returned and planning on getting a softshell made for the backcountry.

Over work clothes when you’re heading for happy hour, with a T-shirt during a chilly mountain ramble, or layered over a sweater around the campfire—this vest does it all.

Great to throw on when heading out for local hikes. A bit expensive for the quality, but does it job well. Would not be the part of the gear I would take into the backcountry.
